Robert Wedlake and his team of enthusiastic coaches and assistants run award-winning tennis programmes at Abergavenny Tennis Club and at satellite venues in and around Monmouthshire, South East Wales.
Our sessions cater for all ages and abilities from 2 to 72 and from complete beginners to regulars on the local tournament scene. Our coaching is spread into the local community with popular programmes running at Monmouth Tennis Club, Schools, Leisure Centres and the Celtic Manor Resort (Newport). Coaching is available in a variety of formats including daytime and evening group classes, school holiday camps, one-to-one instruction and team training with all available to book online. With competition at the heart of all good coaching programmes, we run regular competitions, particularly for younger players. During the past 3 years we have been delighted to have our hard work rewarded with several National awards including Tennis Wales Development Coach of the Year 2010 (Robert Wedlake), Assistant Coach of the Year 2009 (Sean Jones) and Volunteer of the Year 2007 (Mike Buck).
In addition to the enjoyment and fitness benefits of playing tennis, we consider the sport to develop young people to be independent, competitive, polite and respectful, traits which will serve them well in life.
We aim to make use of technology wherever possible with regular bulletins through our eNews service, SMS notifications on urgent coaching messages and online booking for all our courses.
Should you need any tennis equipment, we can help. We are able to provide the latest Tecnifibre racket range at below internet prices (demonstration rackets available to try) and a racket restringing service in association with Quality Tennis Strings.
Whatever your needs, get in touch and we will set you on the right path.
